    My old airbag is working fine and also fits new steering wheel without problems.

    This guide is used on Octavia MY2016 with MIB2 Amundsen unit and Climatronic display from Kodiaq but should also work with panel from Octavia with SW higher than SW1002.
    I do NOT have tested if its working on MIB1 systems also.


    I found a used steering wheel with buttons from a Kodiaq on a czech auto parts store. The same steering wheel is also used on Octavia FL. If you don't find a steering wheel with buttons you have to change the buttons also (see parts list). Everything was going as planned until changing my slip ring from 5Q0953569A to 5Q0953569B. Steering wheel heater was working but my ACC stopped working. I found out that Stalks and slip ring MUST be same HW example my old stalks set was HW075 and slip ring was also HW075. Then changed slip ring to HW100 while stalks still was running HW075. That doesn't work so you have to change the stalks set to running HW100.


    My old stalks was partnumber 5Q0953502AT = HW075 and new stalks is partnumber 5Q0953502AL = HW100
    Also you have to change 16 pin connector at slip ring to 14 pin connector and change pins position. The pins used are 000979009E and are same on both conenctors so no need to buy new. I used Erwin to look through wiring diagram to spot the difference between the connectors, so just change 1 pin at a time and everything should be okay. Then you also need the wiring from 14 pin conenctor heated steering wheel which goes to SC4 (kl30) and a ground connection (kl31). Wiring diagram says you have to use 1mm2 cable size and a cable lenght about 2 metres should be enough to reach SC and ground connection.


    When all wiring and ecu change is done its time for coding.
    You can use VCDS if you know which byte to code or VCP


    In VCDS enter 08 - AUTO HVAC and select coding
    - enter byte 11
    - mark bit 2+3
    - accept new coding


    now restart the MIB infotainment system and after restart, enter Climatronic menu and heated steering wheel icon should be visible.

    1 x stalks set 5Q0953502AL


    I hope this guide will help others to retrofit heated steering wheel to Octavia A7.

    Es ist nur möglich mit einem 3Q0 oder 5Q0 von Facelift ABS Steuergerat.


    Ich habe in meinem Octavia MY2016 mit 3Q0 ABS, nachrüstung park assist teile nummer 5QA919298B mit Manoeuvre Assist.


    Ohne PLA is die teile nummer 5QA919294 index A oder B


    Dann ABS umcodiert werden.
